Gear Hack #6 – Reusable Straws
Its important to us to be more environmentally conscious whenever we can, so is finding multiple purposes for items and gear. The other day when we were sipping a beverage with our stainless steel reusable straws it occurred to us that they could double as a bellows for the fire. Our own pocket bellows is really showing some wear and isn’t extending out the way it use to.
The straw while skinnier and shorter will work just as well especially with our twig stoves that accompany us on every trip. We picked our set up at our local kitchen accessory store $9.99 for 8 straws, very budget efficient compared to the $20 plus for a original pocket bellows. Also take note that an old selfie stick will also work but most of the time they are not made of stainless steel and will rust quickly. Let us know if you give it a try. Happy camping
